North East Business Summit strongly advocated opening tourist agencies in Manipur

Many big industrialists based outside the State have strongly advocated opening tourist agencies in Manipur.
Speaking at the North East Business Summit being held at Lalit Inter Continental Hotel at Mumbai today, they remarked that tourists have shown keen interest to visit Manipur.
With the lifting of Protected Area Permit system from Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram, many tourists are preparing to visit Manipur in the coming years, the industrialists stated.
The business summit also deliberated on developing an exclusive tourist circuit for the Northeastern States.
A number of companies also expressed keen desire to explore mineral resources available in Manipur.
Noting that the proposed IT park at Imphal would facilitate growth of tourism industry in the entire North East, the companies suggested establishment of many IT units at Imphal.
The North East Business Summit jointly organised by DoNER Ministry and ICC was opened by DoNER Minister BK Handique.
The summit was attended by a number of Ministers and officials from the Northeastern States.
Officials of the State had one to one talk with representatives of several companies.
The business summit featured fashion show based on Manipuri indigenous attires, handloom and handicraft products and also music programmes.
