Tokeshori, wife of Soubam Niladhaja who also took part in the sit-in-protest pointed out the main suspect in the thieving case as Laishram Dashumati wife of Late Gouradas of Khangabok Mayai Leikai who was a domestic help in her house since December 22 last year.
She resides at a rented house at Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai.
Police had arrested four persons including Dashumati.
They are Joy of Khangabok Thongkha Leikai, Premananda, son of Dashumati's elder sister and Singhabi of Khangabok.
The three were staying with Dashumati and Tokeshori said that except Dashumati, no one knew the details of her house.
Revealing that the missing gold ornaments were stored under a double lock system, she said the thieves had unlocked the padlocks step by step.
A group of keys which have not been in use for a long time was also found near the almirah.
Tokeshori further said that on January 7, the family was in Moreh and the family returned on January 11, Dashumati did not turn up for work.
She returned for work only after the theft was enacted.
On the other hand, Tokeshori said the police investigation seems to have diverted from its right course under the influence of some high ranking officials.
Participants in the sit-in-protest cautioned the authority of resorting to intensify forms of protest if the thieves are not brought to book as per law of the land.
