45 more reach Guwahati, peace talks on

Forty five more Manipuri natives today reached Guwahati as part of the ongoing exodus of North East people from different mainland cities of India.
In the meantime, amidst the tight security, several rounds of meetings are being held to restore peace and calm in Pune.
According to State Government officials who have been deputed to Guwahati to coordinate Manipuri students and professionals fleeing from different parts of the country, 45 Manipuri natives reached Guwahati today.
However, they could not catch any bus to Imphal.
Subsequently an alternative arrangement was made according to which they would travel up to Dimapur by train from where they can catch buses to reach Imphal.
The Senapati DC has arranged refreshments for the homecoming natives at Mao Gate.
DIG (Range-I) Clay Khongsai who is stationing at Bangalore said that Bangalore police are on maximum alert.
Clay Khongsai said he had met Karnataka DGP L Pachhau on the rumours threatening North East people and subsequent exodus.
The DIG has also reportedly interacted with many Manipuris staying there.
Chandel SP E Priyokumar who is currently putting up at Pune informed that a joint meeting of local Muslim leaders, the local MLA, North East students, one Nagaland Minister and the Pune Joint Commissioner of Police was held today at Kondhwa area of Pune city.
He also informed that security measures have been tightened furthermore in the city.
