Central team visits CCpur

The central team headed by Amlanjyoti Majumdar, IBS, Deputy Director (Media) IEC Division, Ministry of Rural Development, New Delhi, inspected various development projects taken up under the flagship programme of the Union Government today from about 10 am at Churachandpur district.
The team which comprises SP Arya, Under Secretary , IEC Division and Okram Lokendro Singh, Core Faculty Member, SIRD, Manipur along with the DRDA Churachandpur officials first inspected the Siamganpawl Self Help Group at New Lamka and then proceeded to oversee the houses constructed under IAY at Gangpimual.
Later in the afternoon, the central team proceeded to Singngat border village to inspect works completed or being taken up through the MGNREGA , PMGSY and IAY.
While interacting with the media persons upon completion of their inspection Amlanjyoti Majumdar said Manipur is doing much better than many other states in terms of implementation of MGNREGA saying that ring roads have been constructed and there has been better habitation.
He also said that there have been improvement in the development infrastructures by construction of numerous community halls in the state.
However, expressing his regret over the absence of banking facilities in this part of the country Majumdar said banks have to come forward so as to be able to act as a financing institution by giving loans to the people here.
Due to the absence of the banks in the rural areas Majumdar said that it has been a difficult task for authorities to pay the wage earners just within seven days from the completion of works under the MGNREGA.
He then urged the people of the area to pave way for the establishment of more and more banks in the area.
