Wellington Phoenix lands in New Delhi, to arrive Imphal on Aug 23

Imphal, August 20, 2012:
Wellington Phoenix, a top Australian A-League club, arrived in New Delhi on August 19 to participate in the triangular series, titled, "The North East Lajong Super Series" in Imphal and Shillong.
They had a practice session today from 11 am to 12.30 pm which includes training drills and testing everyone on the hard surface and extreme heat in amidst of the scorching summer heat.
The team after reaching Imphal will take on United Sikkim FC at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium on August 24 in the first match of the series.
Meanwhile, Shillong Lajong FC will also be arriving Imphal on August 24.They will play the second match of the tournament against Wellington Phoenix on August 26 at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

United Sikkim FC United Sikkim Football Club is an Indian football club based in Sikkim.
The club topped the final phase of the I-League 2nd Division with 22 points and qualified for the next edition of I-League.
United Sikkim FC was founded in 2008 by the Sikkim Football Board with the help of the then captain of Indian national football team, Baichung Bhutia.
The goal for this club was to increase the standard of football in Sikkim.
In its first two years of existence, United Sikkim participated in various leagues in northeast India.
Due to the success of the club, Sikkim became the only region selected by FIFA for their Goal Project 2 which is aimed to increase the standard of football in Sikkim.
After their first Venture with JPR Events in Gangatok with world superstar XI which included the players like Rudd Gullit, Christian Karembeu and others on 22nd January 2012, they have tied up again with JPR Events to participate in Mayol presents North East Lajong Super Series, Happening, first time ever in India in association with The Telegraph which features: 1.Wellington phoenix (The only Newzealand club to play in the Australian A-League, Having 4 players from the world cup unbeaten side of 2010) 2.Shillong Lajong and 3.United Sikkim United Sikkim is to play their first match of this tournament V's Wellington phoenix, at Khuman Lampak Stadium - Imphal on 24th of August at 1400 IST The second match of the tour is also to be played at Khuman Lampak Stadium between Shillong Lajong and Wellington Phoenix on 26th of August 2012 at 1400 IST.
The tour is supported by Riransa, Alliance Business Corporation, AMFA, FPAI, NSUI, Slazenger, The Classic Hotel and Hueiyen Lanpao.
