The 23rd raising day of the Manipur People's Army (MPA), armed wing of the proscribed UNLF was celebrated today at its Ghqs, Bn Hqs and tactical Hqs together with local people of these areas.
A press release issued by the outfit's senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba said main features of the raising day celebration were paying of tributes to those revolutionary cadres who have paid with their lives in the course of the liberation struggle, reading out of the UNLF Military Affairs Committee's message and the address of MPA's chief of army staff.
Deliberation on the dynamics of the revolutionary movement was another main highlight of the celebration.
It was reaffirmed to maintain the ideal principle of the MPA to fight unto last for liberation of the land and also to wage a more intensified liberation movement.
The gathering further discussed on the crucial necessity of close coordination among revolutionary groups and for that matter, the need to work with greater sense of sacrifice on the part of the MPA.
Saying that the MPA has fought several successful battles against security forces with the help of cooperation and inspiration given by the people notwithstanding the harassment meted out to them by security forces, the outfit lauded the people.
