In connection with missing of a 35-year old youth after being called out, local residents of Chajing Karam Awang Leikai have given 48 hours deadline to five accused individuals including three members of a family.
The deadline was given to the five accused identified as Sarungbam Samu (60) of Chajing Karam Makha Leikai, his wife Mema Devi (52), their son Thoiba (25) and Laishram Joymani (35) of the same locality and Karam Ongbi Khomei Devi (35) of Chajing Karam Awang Leikai after joint meeting of the residents of Chajing Karam Awang Leikai today.
The five accused have been charged with calling out Gurumayum Rupachandra Sharma (35) of Chajing Karam Awang Leikai from his house and handed him over to the custody of some unidentified persons or group.
The joint meeting of the local residents gave 48 hours as the deadline to the five accused persons for producing the missing youth.
Out of the five accused, the local residents have reportedly rounded up Sarungbam Ongbi Mema and Laishram Joymani and handed them over to the custody of police while the remaining three are absconding.
In today's meeting, a JAC has also been formed to assist in establishing the whereabouts of Rupachandra.
He is the father of a son and one daughter.
But staying separated from his wife who went back to her maternal home around five years back.
