The 12-hour dawn to dusk "Naga homeland" bandh jointly called by Naga Hoho, Naga Students� Federation, Naga Mothers� Association and Naga People�s Movement for Human Rights passed off peacefully on Friday with there was no report about untoward incidents.The bandh was called in protest against October 2 twin blasts in Dimapur which officially claimed 25 lives and injured about 200.All educational institutions, government offices, banks, other financial institutions and business establishments remained closed reportedly throughout the state even as vehicles other than those belonging to security personnel remained off the road.
The Indian Airlines, the only air operator in the state, earlier cancelled its flights to and from Dimapur due to the bandh.
However, there was no disruption of services of the Railways with trains including passengers and goods plied as usual.
In Dimapur, the train passengers had a harrowing time as many of them failed to make their further journey to other places due to non-availability of vehicular services.
Many trucks were seen stranded in various pockets in the town and shops remained closed throughout the day.
