The unknown person then took a U-turn and stopped near the retaining wall of AMSU and EMA Konthongangbi Sanglen and hurled the hand grenade inside the AMSU complex, which exploded near the main office building.
Speaking to the media persons, L Athouba, vice president of AMSU stated that targeting the office of a students' organisation, who are committed to working for the betterment of the students and Manipur society as a whole is truly unfortunate.
Saying that AMSU has done no wrong till today, Athouba contended that they should be given a chance to rectify even if the organisation had made mistakes.
He also appealed to all concerned to clarify the motive of the attack.
This is a black day for all who are committed to uplift the student community, he added.
