Kangpokpi, June 08 2021:
Discontent with the continuous spreading of false allegation as if deceased Mangboilal Lhouvum was a cadre of the outfit even after issuing clear clarification, Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) has warned of taking appropriate action against anyone involved in spreading the wrong information in future.
KRA information and publicity secretary T Simte said that on June 4 evening, Mangboilal of Chalwa village was allegedly shot dead by Major Alok Sathe, the post commander of 44 AR 'E' Coy stationed at Banglabung Gelnel village.
In connection with the incident, social media and even some reputed TV channels based in Imphal described deceased Mangboilal Lhouvum as the new finance secretary of KRA in-charge of the area.
Considering that the accusation despite being completely baseless could give bad impression about the organisation and the deceased family, a clarification was made immediately to avoid misconception and illusion but unfortunately the deceased Mangboilal was morphed into a combat dress and the false allegation continue to spread worse than before.
It has now confirmed that the false allegation spreading like a wildfire was executed to tarnish the hard-earned image of the organisation and defame the deceased man and his family, T Simte said in a statement.
KNO/KRA once again appeal to every individual to refrain from spreading false information without cross checking the actual fact in future, he said, and warned that the organisation will no longer remain a mute spectator in case wrong information continue to spread and appropriate action would be initiated against culprits involved.
KNO/KRA also appreciated Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi and various other civil society organisations apart from various other like-minded individuals who took the initiatives for bringing justice to the deceased Mangboilal Lhouvum and his family.
Meanwhile, KNO/KRA also stated that it signed the Suspension of Operations (SoO) with the Government of Manipur and the Government of India on August 22, 2008 and since then it has been strictly following the SoO ground rules while refraining from all kinds of unnecessary violence and extortion.
It also said that KNO/KRA in its operational areas always emphasis on development of the society at large and does not give any hindrance to development projects in its operational areas.
