Abducted trader escapes

A non-local trader who was abducted on Tuesday night reportedly for ransom has managed to escape from the clutches of his captors, reaching home yesterday around 6.30pm.about the same time he was whisked by masked men.
Nemichan Sharma Marwari (53) runs a shop at Hmuia Veng here and resides a few blocks behind the shop.
He was blindfolded by the kidnappers who according to him number around 7 inside a red Santro car.
He was administered injection which made him unconscious.
Moments after reaching home, he told reporters that he took advantage of his captors ' inebriation last evening as they were always drunk in the later parts of the day.
He also said that his captors had at times thrashed him telling him to pay Rs 1 crore to Rs50 lakh.
Sharma said he was kept on a hilltop possibly atop Dumlian village in Sangaikot TD block, and alleged that his captors had identified themselves as members of the MPLA.
