New office bearers of Sana Konung Semgat Lup sworn in

The new elected office bearers of Sana Konung Semgat Lup were sworn in at the Royal Palace today with the titular King Leishemba Sanajaoba administering oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected members in front of the throne of Ebudhou Pakhangba.
Chingsubam Gopalmacha was sworn in as the President of Sana Konung Semgat Lup and Joy Chingakham, C Kharmi Tangkhul, Th Lamni, Ph Sakhi, Akoijam Janaki, S Ibetombi, Y Leirik, M Purnimashi, Chingsubam Wangambi and S Momon as Vice Presidents.
Others who were sworn in were P Araba Mangang as General Secretary, O Bikramjit as Assistant Secretary; N Chingkheinganbi as Secretary Finance; L Ranibala as Assistant Secretary Finance; L Sanajaoba as Information and Publicity Secretary; Th Lamjingba as Assistant Secretary (Information and Publicity); Waikhom Loyangamba as Secretary Organisation; Y Rashikanta as Secretary Arts and Culture and H Yurika as Secretary External Affairs.
Another eight executive members were also administered oath by the titular king.
While speaking on the occasion, Chingsubam Gopalmacha, the newly elected President stated that after Manipur was emerged to Indian Union, the State Government provided certain amounts for the maintenance of Sana Konung on a yearly basis till 1972.Since then the Government of India had been trying their level best to take over Sana Konung by introducing various administrative reforms, but in vain.
He further stated that the Sana Konung of Manipur today has been following and keeping intact the customs and traditions of the people that has been in vogue for the last 2000 years.
This is in vast difference to other kingdoms of the country.
As such, the Sana Konung of Manipur is still a living Palace.
