Imphal flooded

Imphal, August 09 2011:
With drainage system failed from increasing encroachment, various pockets of Imphal have yet again remained under flood water on account of intermittent rains over the last couple of days.
On the other hand, the water level in most rivers have risen to warning level.
Following the uninterrupted rain in the past couple of days, many localities under Keishamthong and Sagolband Assembly Constituencies have been flooded.
The situation is same in Andro Parking where failure of drainage system has led to artificial flood.
Meanwhile, report received from Irrigation and Flood Control Department said that water level in most rivers running through the length and breadth of the State risen to warning level.
Accordingly, the sluice gates of Ithai river have been lifted since yesterday.
