No Bill for separate HC in Manipur: MPP

After series of demands from the people of Manipur and Manipur People's Party(MPP) from establishing a separate High Court in the State the Union Minister of Law and Justice Dr.M.Veerappa Moily assured the MPP in a later dated February 17th this year.
In the letter send by the Union Law and Justice Minister to Manipur Peoples' Party in February 17, the Union Minister said the Centre is very keen to have a separate High Court for Manipur and for this the Home Affairs who has to move the bill in Parliament for the same has already been approached and urged to do the needful but in the present Parliament session there is no arrangement to introduce the bill a press release issued by the MPP said today.
If the bill for setting up separate High Court for Manipur is not ready during the current Parliament session it is very clear that the Congress led Union Government is not seriously concern about Manipur the MPP press release also added.
The State Government is not interest in speeding the works of the judiciaries which is an important part of the democratic set up of the country the MPP also charged.
The Congress led State Government is also not working to fill up various vacancies of Judges to complete the pending cases of the frequent cases occurred in the State the release issued by the General Secretary (Media)also said.
District Judges for the nine districts of the State and the Additional District Judges were not appointed in strength ,how only 30 judges can complete the ever rising number of cases the Manipur Peoples' Party also asked.
Our neighbors Mizoram have about 300 Judges and there is no hurdle in disposing various cases.
The State Government also not extended the facilities of legal aid to the poor and heady people which the Union Law Ministry earmarked to clear the fees of lawyers .
It may be noted here that the Manipur Peoples' Party in a letter to the Union Law Minister in January 31st this year pressured for immediate establishment of Separate High Court for Manipur and appointment of Judges.
