Imphal, August 09 2011:
The Naga youth front (NYF) condemned the SPF Government led by O Ibobi on his conduct and handling the demand for creation of Sadar Hill District by bifurcating Senapati District without taking into consideration the Nagas people's sentiments.
A press release of NYF today stated that any attempt of the State Government to instigate communal tension among the people in the hill districts will never be compromised.
It also alleged that the recent demand has the hand of the State government to directly challenge the Nagas' aspiration for an honourable and peaceful solution.
The act of the state government and some tribal organizations to encourage divide and rule policy among the tribal people is clearly visible with the incidents occurring during the present situation.
With the law and order situation given a free hand to the bandh supporters and mobs, the Nagas conclusively feel that, the Government is anti-Naga and fully communal, the press release alleged.
While emergency medical needs, essential goods and stranded passengers unable to access through NH 39 due to the general strike, the state government is continuing to seek options in NH 53 and Jessami road in Ukhrul with full security.
It also alleged that the government seems to have missed the "Cabinet Decision" to open NH 39 to the general public, while security forces of the state are hyperactive to kill and suppress the Nagas during their peaceful demonstrations on many occasions, it alleged.
Surrendering and conceding of their land is forbidden in Naga social cultural traditions.
Any attempt of the present State Government to give away the lands of the Nagas will be very grave and rife.
Nagas shall take such an act of the government as an open invitation of war.
Since time immemorial, the Nagas have been defending and protecting by waging war against any external or internal encroachers irrespective of race, color, creed, it added.
