Imphal, August 09 2011:
Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur State Unit President Santikumar today slammed the Ibobi led Secular Progressive Front (SPF) government for turning a blind eye in the loss of many public properties during the ongoing general strike on the two NHs by SHDDC.
Speaking to reporters in a press meet held at the office of the party, SAntikumar said that the division of district in the state was carried out based on geographical structure but it was not based on community residential areas.
Chief Minister O Ibobi himself had accepted that the demand of SHDDC is legitimate and should be met with.
But the CM is now sidelining the issue by bringing up other district demand issue in Phungyar of Ukhrul and Tengnoupal of Chandel.
The ongoing general strike on the two NHs has entered eight days and price of daily commodities have sky rocketed due to the blockade.
The government is not doing anything to control the price rise which is being control by businessmen according to their wish.
Santikumar slammed the Home Ministry for giving a free hand to the NSCN-IM who is undergoing peace talk with the centre.
He also condemned the non active state of the state government over the terror attack of NSCN-IM at Sangakpham Keithel on August 1 which claimed four innocent lives and injured other eight.
He also questioned the reason why the SPF government is not trying to shut down the camps of NSCN-IM being opened up in the state.
NSCN-IM has been doing many crimes in the state despite of being bound under the ground rules of cease fire and peace talk process with the Government of India.
Attacking government convoys, civilians, ADC offices, collecting illegal taxes from transporters in the National Highways and the state and centre is turning a blind eye on the illegal activities and crimes being carried out by NSCN-IM.
The CM himself had told the people of the state the terror attack at Sangakpham Keithel was carried out by NSCN-IM.
However the state government is not taking up any action against the accused UG organization nor the Home Ministry with whom the UG group is undergoing peace talk doing anything.
The Ministry is not giving a single comment regarding the attack.
