Sadar Hills MLAs demonstrate support

In connection with the decree issued by the Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) to all the members of ADC Sadar Hills including the chairman and the vice chairman to resign over the demand for upgradation of Sadar Hills to a full-fledged district, the ADC chairman convened a joint meeting with the public at Kangpokpi Mission ground today.
The meeting was earlier proposed to be held at Imphal Hotel but the venue was shifted to Kangpokpi only today morning.
MLAs of three Assembly Constituencies under Sadar Hills namely Thangminlen Kipgen, Haokholet Kipgen and Doukhomang Khongsai were also present during the meeting at the invitation of the chairman and vice chairman of ADC Sadar Hills.
The three MLAs also demonstrated their support to the demand to upgrade Sadar Hills to a full fledged district.
During the meeting, participated by a large number of public leaders and members from different section of society, everyone was given the chance to express their opinion over the ongoing agitation and the issue was discussed threadbare.

However, no definite decision could be arrived at.
At the end of the meeting, a large number of agitated womenfolk kept the three MLAs, the chairman, the vice chairman and other members of the ADC under detention maintaining that they should also share the suffering of the common public.
All the MLAs and the ADC members were however allowed to leave and they reached Imphal by late evening.
