Imphal, July 06 2019:
Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu convened a meeting with officials of Airport Authority of India, State Government, Air India, Indigo and Air Asia, and discussed about a new flight service between Imphal and Delhi.
During the meeting, State Government officials expressed keen desire for the particular flight to depart Imphal early morning and arrive at Imphal International Airport in the evening.
They also made it clear that tax levied on ATF by the State Government would not be charged on flight operators which are willing to operate the particular flight.
Even if the airlines are of the opinion that it would not be convenient to station aircrafts at Imphal overnight, they may send aircrafts from Guwahati early in the morning to Imphal for departure to Delhi.
Likewise, aircrafts which arrive at Imphal from Delhi in the evening may fly to Guwahati and park the night there, pointed out the State Government officials.
As Indigo expressed its willingness to accept the State Government's proposal, an official undertaking would be signed between Indigo airlines and the State Government tomorrow, informed a source.
