Ex-Minister N Mangi inspects condition of various RLI scheme and mini dams in Kumbi

Bishnupur, July 06 2019: Ex-Minister Ningthoujam Mangi Singh who is also spokesperson of MPCC cum media penalist was on an inspection tour at different locations in Kumbi AC having RLI schemes and mini dams today to check whether they are supplying adequate water to the vast paddy fields in Kumbi amidst deficit in rainfall witnessed this year.

As part of the inspection tour, the ex-minister first stopped at Phougakchao Ikhai Maning to inspect Minor Irrigation Dam with canal and then headed to inspect different RLI schemes at Saiton Heiyaikon Maning Loukon RLI Scheme, Leitanpokpi Maning Joton Mapa RLI Scheme, Leitanpokpi Mayai Ranjit Mapa RLI Scheme, Salankonjil Maning Khomdram Ningthem Mapa RLI Scheme, Salankonjil Bazar Haojam Kumar Mapa RLI Scheme, Salankonjil Mamang Kachil Heisnam Mangi Mapa RLI Scheme, Sagolpat Akham Mapa RLI Scheme, Kumbi Sagolpat Mema Mapa RLI Scheme, Kumbi Kor Satjal Mapa RLI Scheme, Kumbi Terakha Sangeet Mapa RLI Scheme.

Later, he inspected the mini dam at Akasoi and Borayangbi Sandangkhong Minor Irrigation (MI) Stream Dam.

Speaking to the media persons, the ex-minister expressed disappointment at the present working condition of the RLI Scheme and mini dams and urged the State Govt to take some urgent measure on war footing to meet the requirement and demand of water in paddy fields of Kumbi AC.

Pradhan Wangoo Terakhong Gram Panchayat P Bakeshwore Singh; ex-Pradhan Saiton GP S Shamungou Singh; ward members and members of Kumbi Block Congress Committee accompanied the ex-minister N Mangi Singh in the inspection tour.
