No interference in polls, says NNPGs

The Working Committee of the six Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) has said that it will not involve in the ensuing polls in Nagaland.
"Let this process (ensuing election) pass of peacefully", the Working Committee of the six NNPGs said.
It also said that "political negotiations with the Government of India" will resume after the election.
Therefore, it appealed the Naga people to "remain calm and avoid violence during the imposed election" .
The Working Committee of the six NNPGs stated that, "irrespective of whichever party comes to power, the members must work towards facilitating an honourable and acceptable political solution between the NNPGs and the Government of India" .
On the recent development, the Working Committee said that a very strong message was sent to India and the outside world that there was a real political problem in Nagaland.
All political parties signed an agreement on January 29, 2018 to desist from issuing party tickets.
"Eventually, the deceitful game of an Indian political party played spoilsport to the common agenda, nevertheless, on the ground the mood was absolutely for solution," it added.
A bandh was called by the Nagas and despite the last minute pullouts, the sentiments of the people was there for all to witness, the NNPGs' Working Committee further added.
The Working Committee of clarified "to the people of Nagaland that the signing of the 'Agreed Position or a Preamble of the negotiations between the Government of India and the six NNPGs on November 17, 2017 is unprecedented".
The Working Committee of the six NNPGs said, "It is unwise to link the November 17, 2017 agreement of the six NNPGs and the Government of India with that of the NSCN (IM)'s Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015" .
According to the six NNPGs' Working Committee, though both are for the same people, the former is "as clear as the blue sky while the latter is shrouded in mystery and apprehension" .
