Imphal, November 02 2021: The state government continued its initiative of delivering governance at the doorstep of the people and bringing inclusive development with chief minister N Biren launching the Go to Village 2.0 at Moijing Public Playground in Thoubal district on Tuesday.

Works minister Th Biswajit, education minister S Rajen, tribal affairs and hills minister Vungzagin Valte, agriculture minister Oinam Lukhoi, CAF&PD minister Th Satyabrata, PHE minister Loshi Dikho, deputy speaker K Robindro, Manipur Pollution Control Board chairman L Radhakishore, Manipur Building & Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board chairman H Dingo, Wangjing Tentha MLA P Brojen, Lilong MLA Y Antas Khan, Heirok MLA Th Radheshyam, chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, administrative secretaries and other government officials also attended the programme.

In his address, chief minister Biren said that the denizens of the state are living in peace with the coming of BJP-led government in the state.

Some 20-30 years ago, the state was in turmoil with people living in fear.

Fearing for their men and sons being harassed by security forces, womenfolk would stand on vigil all night.

Now such things have become things of past, he added.

N Biren continued that this peace is a gift for the people from BJP led government in its four and half years of rule.

This has happened because the government has been able to better the relationship of public and security forces.

Good governance means taking care of the welfare of the public and maintaining peace in the state, he observed.

N Biren also asserted that BJP led government has resolved issues of bandh, blockade, unavailability of fuel, LPG, lack of water supply, electricity, etc, that were common in the past.

Government has launched 'Eikhoi Lairik Tamhansi' for providing free education up to class XII and graduation for students whose families cannot afford to educate them with an aim to increase education level in the state, he stated.

The chief minister pointed out that the earlier the state lagged behind in fish production; but now with the effort of the government it has increased.

N Biren further said that Go to Village 2.0 has been launched to continue village to village visits of government officials making sure that governance reaches every corner of the state.

He continued that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken up certain welfare schemes for its people.

If benefits of all such schemes reach the targeted beneficiaries then lives of poor and needy people in the state would be more comfortable.

As such, the government has taken up such programmes to ensure equal development, he stated.

Stating that certain stalls of different departments and banks have been opened at the Moijing playground, N Biren urged the people of Moijing to visit the stalls, seek information and access benefits of certain schemes being introduced for welfare of people.

Pointing out that very less number of applications had been received from village areas for Start Up scheme so far, he encouraged the youth of the area to apply for Start Up scheme if they have any proper plan for starting an activity for livelihood.

He informed that the government had brought a new scheme 'CM Widow Pension Scheme' to provide monetary support of Rs 500 every month to widows.

The CM expressed hope that Moijing village would go forward to the path of development in various sectors soon.

Informing that the government had covered around 2,669 villages in the earlier Go to Village mission, he assured that many more villages would be covered under the Go to Village 2.0.The CM also appealed to the people to contact the phone number of 'CM da Haisi' for any issues they face and he will do what he can to resolve it.

On the issue of Covid-19, N Biren said the government has taken all steps to contain the pandemic in the state and urged people to support the government in its aim to have 100 per cent vaccination in the state before the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election.

The CM further said that the government has launched 'CM?s Health for All' to provide doorstep medical care for the public to ensure health and wellness for all the citizens of the state.

In all, 50 stalls of different government departments and banks have been set up at the playground to provide assistance to the people of Moijing under the Go to Village 2.0.The stall will remain open on November 2, 3 and 5.During the programme, N Biren distributed assistances under various schemes including smartphones under CM e-Support Scheme, textbooks, uniforms, sports equipment under Education Department, Manipur Start Up Scheme, Cards under Prad-han Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) and Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT), Widows' Pension Scheme, pension, aid and appliances for physically challenged, Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) among others.

As part of the programme, a Shumang Leela titled 'Keidoubei Kidoino', produced by Department of Information and Public Relations to spread awareness on Covid-19 pandemic was also showcased.
