Minister Okendro assures land for IEI State Centre

Imphal, September 15 2013:
Proper land allocation for construction of the Manipur State Centre of Institution of Engineers, India (IEI) would be provided so that the construction process could start very soon, Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro has assured.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the 45th Engineers Day celebration held at the auditorium of Polytechnic, Takyelpat here today.
The Education Minister further stated that since the area for construction of NIT-Manipur has been provided by the State Government at Lamphelpat, there is no reason as to why the government should not provide the required land for construction of IEI, Manipur State Centre.
The matter would be discussed with the Chief Minister to do the needful at the earliest possible, he assured.
Social Welfare Minister Ak Mirabai, who was also present on the occasion as Guest of Honour, observed that engineers play a very important role in the modification and beautification of human beings.
She also assured assured of doing her level best to allot proper land for IEI Manipur State Centre in consultation of the Chief Minister.
As a part of the 45th Engineers Day celebration floral tributes were paid to the photo of Bharta Ratna Sir Mokshagumdam Visvesvaraya, who was not only a renowned Indian Engineer, but also a scholar and statesman, by all those who were present on the occasion.
Presided over by M Lokendro, Chairman of Institution of Engineers (India) Manipur State Centre, the function was also attended by Kh Rajchandra, Controller of Technical Education, Manipur; Kh Angou, immediate past chairman of IEI, Manipur State Centre and Th Joykumar as Special Guests of Honour.
