TNL president candidate abducted, remains traceless

Taking the drama surrounding the upcoming election of Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), Jonathan Kashing, presidential candidate in the election, has been reportedly "abducted" by unidentified persons and remained traceless for the last three days.
In a press communiqu� issued on Sunday, the Tangkhul Frontal organizations comprising Tangkhul Naga Long, Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL), Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) and Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL) have appealed to the responsible party for safe and secure release of TNL presidential candidate Jonathan Kashung.
In a statement signed by TNL General Secretary K Dickson, the Tangkhul frontal organisations 'appeal for safe and secure release of TNL presidential candidate Jonathan Kashung on humanitarian ground' .
Jonathan Kashung, who hails from Shingkap village under Phungyar sub-division of Ukhrul district, was reportedly abducted at about 9.40am on September 13 last from Ukhrul's Phungreitang and his whereabouts is still unknown till date.
On Saturday, the Tangkhul frontal and zonal bodies held a joint sitting and adopted a resolution to appeal for Jonathan's safe release.
The joint statement said as per the information given by Jonathan's brother Paul Kashung, he was abducted by unidentified persons from nearby Ukhrul's Zonal Education Office at Phungreitang on September 13.TNL general elections 2013 have been scheduled on September 18 .
Jonathan is one among the four contending presidential candidates.
