THE ALL Tribal Disables' Union, Manipur (ATDUM) has submitted two separate memoranda to the Chief Secretary of Manipur yesterday demanding the establishment of a Special School for all categories of Children and to appoint a full-fledge independent charge Commissioner for the welfare of the Disabilities under the Person with Disabilities Act, 1995 .
A press statement issued by Momo Tantanga, president of ATDUM also mentioned that the ATDUM is not happy with the government for failing to meet the earlier demands of the union.
It stated that the union has been demanding for the increment of the quantum of financial assistance, unemployment allowance, scholarship for disabled students and conveyance allowance and proper implementation of 3 percent reservation of service post and in all poverty alleviation schemes for the disabled persons.
The statement further appeals the authority concerned to materialise the demands of the ATDUM as soon as possible.
