Mongoloid Peoples Forum and All India Tribal Students Association, Delhi have condemned the well plan and successive attacks on the innocent citizens from Northeast in the state of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala and demanded an apology from the 'three organizers' of the protest in the interest of safeguarding the secular fabric of the country.
In a statement, Convenor of Mongoloid Peoples Forum K.Zou pointed out that none of the assaulted victims are related neither with the riot in Assam nor in Myanmar.
The slogan "kisi chinki logon ko chor ne ka nain" uttered by the protesters is totally racial, offensive, a threat to national integration and uncalled for.
A similar incidence of attacking innocent people from Northeast was also carried out in the state of Bihar in November 2003 in retaliation to the manhandling of some candidates from Bihar by some Assamese student during the Railway Recruitment exam in Guwahati, the statement recalled.
Appealing to the Chief Ministers of the eight northeastern states to take up necessary steps for arriving at a political solution with the central government along constitution a "Commission for Racial Equality" (CRE) in line with the British Government, the statement also urged all the political parties to ponder ways and means of sending the Northeastern youth to neighboring the south East Asian countries as part of the Look East Policy (LEP).
The statement also appealed to the various ethnic groups in NE region to stand united and not to succumb to narrow religious fundamentalism and abstain from indulging in any act of violence against any community.
