Imphal, May 29 2014:
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam stated on Thursday that Ibobi Government is still undisturbed and intact despite Congress' arch-rival BJP forming a new Government at the Centre.
Talking to pressmen at Congress Bhavan here, Gaikhangam dubbed as baseless speculation the media report which said that State Congress is splitting and experiencing crisis within.
Chief Minister O Ibobi-headed Congress Government has to work under the Constitution just as BJP Government at the Centre, he said.
The Central Government and the State Government have separate subjects of their own, so no political move which would be detrimental to the State Government could be expected the BJP Government at the Centre, Gaikhangam asserted.
Asked if it is true that there has been a disagreement within the organization of the State Congress over preparation for reshuffle in the Ibobi ministry, the Deputy CM said the question of reshuffling Ministry does not arise at the moment.
Chief Minister Ibobi will have to initiate the plan and if a reshuffle is to effect, the Congress national leadership has to be informed first, he added.
