Imphal, May 29 2014:
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Manipur State unit today submitted a formal complaint to the Chief Secretary of Manipur over the total blackout in the State during the oath-taking ceremony of Narendra Modi on May 26 .
In the complaint, the BJYM urged Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga to take appropriate action against the Electricity Department for the power-cut which the youth wing of the BJP called a 'deliberate act' .
The power cut happened just when Modi was about to take oath as 15th Prime Minister of India and it was a purely an intentional act of the Electricity Department, the complaint report to the Chief Secretary signed by BJYM president O Malesh said, adding power was turned on as soon as the swearing-in ceremony ended.
It also mentioned that a similar incident occurred at Langjing Achouba ground in Imphal West where Narendra Modi addressed a huge election rally ahead of the recent Lok Sabha polls on February 8 last.
It was a premeditated plan of the Power Department to bar the people from watching the historic event on Television, it asserted.
The complaint demanded that action be taken up against those involved in the unruly act in the interest of the general public.
