Yamthong Haokip taken to New Delhi for treatment

Saikul MLA Yamthong Haokip, was transported by an air ambulance to the National capital yesterday and is presently undergoing treatment at Cardio-Thoracic Centre of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
Yamthong Haokip has been staying in JNIMS Security ward under judicial custody remand in connection with a case taken up by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) concerning the missing arms case from 2nd Manipur Rifle Arms Kote.
According to a reliable source, the MLA was taken to New Delhi by a team of Sajiwa Central Jail Manipur personnel yesterday and soon after reaching the National capital, Yamthong Haokip was taken to the Cardio-Thoracic Centre of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and is currently undergoing treatment.
It may be mentioned that on November 6 last year, Special Court NIA Manipur had rejected the bail application of Yamthong Haokip but permitted him to get treatment at Cardio- Thoracic Centre AIIMS, New Delhi apart from directing the SP of Sajiwa Central Jail Manipur to make necessary arrangements so as to provide personnel for escorting the MLA to the said destination.
Yamthong Haokip was admitted to Sky Hospital and Research Centre after complaining of chest pain following a raid conducted by NIA at his Mantripukri residence in connection with the arms missing case.
He was then transferred from Sky Hospital to Fortis Escort Heart Institute, New Delhi, by an Air Ambulance and the MLA also underwent an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) implantation surgery.
On August 18 last year, Yamthong Haokip came back to Imphal and on being summoned by the NIA, he went to NIA camp on August 23 and was arrested the next day (August 24) after which he was remanded to judicial custody at JNIMS security ward.
It may also be mentioned that on January 28, NIA submitted charge sheet against MLA Yamthong Haokip, KRA Chief David Hangsing, Thokchom Diamond and self styled Chairman of UKLF Lunkhoson Haokip in connection with the arms missing case.
On September 27 last year NIA, after completion of the investigation, submitted charge sheets against 8 accused persons identified as Laishram Anilkumar, Thokchom James alias Tonao, Paonam Shantikumar, Haobam Brojendro, Ngamboi Haokip, Raju, Nellikattil Podiyan Damodaran, Mathurabasimayum Hiranjoy Sharma alias Ngoubi and Laishram Damudor Singh.
