Political parties, media persons briefed on MCC to ensure smooth conduct of Lok Sabha election

With the announcement of coming Lok Sabha Election, 2019, the DC/District Election Officer of Bishnupur, Pawan Yadav called a press conference at Conference Hall, DC's Office today.
In the press conference, he informed that assessment to ensure minimum facilities in all the polling stations of the district has been done and communicated to the CEO office.
On Model Code of Conduct (MCC), he said that the teams related to expenditure monitoring and enforcement of MCC has been activated, flying squad teams have been deployed at different locations in the district to enforce MCC since the announcement of election date yesterday.
"All AROs have been instructed to monitor enforcement of MCC.
Regular inspections will be conducted by all AROs concerned and DEO as well" he said.
The DC also encouraged people to use cVIGIL mobile app to report any violation of MCC and call voter helpline number 1950 to get details of their entry in electoral roll and polling stations along with details of the BLOs.
He also appealed media persons to assist election machinery in the conduct of free and fair election.
The DEO also held a meeting with all political parties active in the district.
Informing the party representatives of the details of MCC, he urged them not to misuse government, public properties and educational institutions for election related purposes.
He informed them that Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) will be looking after paid news and surrogate advertising which can be made an electoral offence.
He also informed them of the guidelines for displaying of flags, banners and other campaign related materials.
Bishnupur will go to poll on the April 19, 2019.A total of 1,69,467 voters will cast their votes in 228 polling stations located in 169 places which spread over in 6 assembly constituencies.
Tamenglong: In order to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming 17th Lok Sabha Election 2019, the District Administration of Tamenlong along with the media houses of Tamenlong and Noney organized an interaction programme with the representatives of all political parties based in Tamenlong and Noney District at the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner of Tamenlong today.
Representatives from Naga People's Front (NPF), BJP and Congress party took part in the programme.
During the programme, DC Tamenglong, Ravinder Singh (IAS) explained on various matter related to the expenditure, news and advertisement that may favour one political party or politicians during election to the representatives of the political parties.
He also explained about the benefit of using cVigil mobile application, through which the public can record and send any violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) to the election authorities for appropriate action.
Amongst the media house, The Cham, Tamenlong Times, The Gannphiu Mail and the ISTV correspondent of Tamenlong took part in the interactive programme.
Photocopies of Model Mode of Conduct (MCC) and the budget expenditure chart for the upcoming General Election were also distributed to the political representatives during the programme.
Kangpokpi: District Administration Kangpokpi held a joint meeting with various political parties and media persons active in Kangpokpi District at DC's Conference Hall, Kangpokpi regarding election preparedness and compliance of Model Code of Conduct in connection with Lok Sabha Election, 2019.The meeting chaired by District Election Officer, Lalithambigai K, IAS, who is also the District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi was attended by SP Kangpokpi Hemant Pandey, various political parties including INC, BJP, NEIDP and others including media persons functioning in the district.
It was also attended by AROs of the three Assembly Constituencies including 50-Kangpokpi, 51-Saitu and 46-Saikul apart from various District Nodal Officers and DLOs.
Various issues such as defacement of property including defacement of Government property, public property and misuse of public space, private property, misuse of official vehicles, advertisement at the cost of public exchequer, photograph of political functionary at official website, development/construction related activities, dissemination of information for awareness of voters of political parties were discussed during the meeting.
