Ching-tam Cultural fest concludes

The 5-day long Ching-tam Traditional Cultural festival-2013 cum 3rd Manipur Pung Cholom, Traditional Folk Dance, Thang-Ta Best Fighter Championship which was held under the auspices of All Manipur Huyen Lalong and Traditional Cultural Preservation Committee, Manipur concluded at the Kangshang of Khuman Lampak here today.
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Sapam Bheigya, Joint Director of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur stated that protection and preservation of our age long customs and traditions is essential.
So, all the people of the State should preserve our tradition and custom.
He went on to inform that many developed and developing countries like Japan are trying to protect, preserve and further develop their culture and tradition.
As such we should do our level best to preserve our culture and tradition as Manipur is known to the outside world because of its beautiful culture and tradition.
Delivering the key note address, Ratan, Secretary of All Manipur Huyen Lalong and Traditional Cultural Preservation Committee, Manipur stated that the festival was organized with the objective of keeping alive the discipline and respect the present generation needs to show to their elders and forefathers.
Presided over by Th Menjor, President of Ireipak Kummei Apunba Lup, the concluding function of the festival was also attended by S Vedeshwor, Secretary of Manipur State Kala Akademi as Guest of Honour.
