3-day seminar on 'movements' in recent past to be held from Nov 27

Imphal, November 25 2015:
A three-day long seminar on "movements in recent past and present Northeast India with special reference to Manipur" will be held from November 27 to November 29 at 10.30 am in Conference Hall, Anthropology Department, Manipur University.
The seminar will be organised by Centre for Manipur Studies, Manipur sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi.
The inaugural function will be attended by consultant Government of India Dr RK Nimai who is also member of Executive Council of Manipur University as Chief Guest.
School of Social Sciences, Manipur University Dean, Professor Elangbam Bijoykumar will attend the seminar as President.
A book titled "Claims and Refutations: A compilation on Naga Political Movement", co-edited by Aheibam Koireng, Dr H Shukhdeba and Dr Homen Thangjam will be released during the seminar.
The three-day seminar will address themes like "Anti Colonial Movement; Socio-Religious Reform movement; Diaspora Movement; Statehood Movement; Anti-Foreign National Movement; Human Rights Movement; Movement for Territorial Integrity; Movement against alcoholism and substance abuse; Movement based on Identity, language, region and cultural renaissance; Insurgency Movements for secession/autonomy/ethnic homeland; Civil Society Movements for Conflict Resolution/Peaceful Co-existence and harmony" .
