Campus Children's Bird Sanctuary

After inaugurating the 1st Campus Children's Bird Sanctuary in Manipur at Twinkle Star Academy, Kongba on February 16, 2014, St Peter's Shillong Alumni Association (Manipur Chapter) continued its noble work by inaugurating two more schools for its Campus Children's Bird Sanctuaries.
Peter Thorose, Secretary and Dancy Dora, treasurer of the Meghalaya Environment and Wildlife Society (MEWS-India) along with T Marak retired PCCF Chairman Management Effectiveness Evaluation of Wildlife Protected Areas (MEE) under the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MOEF) Government of India, in the presence of RS Arun (IFS) Deputy Conservator of Forests, Wildlife, Imphal, Dr Justus Joshua, Scientist, Ornithologist and Member of MEE and MOEF, Dr Rakesh Singh, Scientist Wildlife Legal Expert, Member of MEE and MOEF, for the first time ever, inaugurated the Campus in the BB Paul Mental Development Home, Mongsangei on October 7 last.
The second school to be inaugurated was Canchi Academy, Kha Naorem Leikai on October 10 last.
Head wardens, senior wardens and junior wardens were choosen among the teachers and students to look after the campus that no wild birds were killed in the campus.
