No new death case, 23 infected

Imphal, December 08 2021:
For the last two consecutive days, the state has reported no new death cases of Covid-19 as government bulletins on Wednesday reported 23 new positive cases out of 1564 samples tested in the last 24 hours: The daily test positivity rate was 1.47 per cent on Wednesday against 1.15 percent recorded on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the active caseload came down to 3325 out of which 56 (17.23 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only five reported fresh Covid cases on Wednesday with Imphal West recording highest cases at 11 .
So far, the state has recorded 96,029 positive cases and 1611 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 224 new positive cases and eight fatalities have been reported during the current month out of which 193 new cases and 7 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 23 new positive cases (11 male & 12 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (2) and other testing centres (20).The positive cases are from Imphal East (5), Imphal West (ll), Bishnupur (4), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (2).In the last 24 hours, 28 patients were discharged from home isolation (9), JNIMS (8) and CCCs (11).The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,25,429 (general population - 1,20,996 and CAPF personnel - 4,433).Number of recovered cases is 1,23,119 (general population 1,18,696 and CAPF personnel - 4,423) and number of active cases is 325 (general population - 320 and CAPF personnel - 5).The recovery rate is 98.16 per cent.
Meanwhile, 5647 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,94,106 including 9,13,094 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,973), Imphal East (27,854), Thoubal (9481), Churachandpur (10,188), Kangpokpi (2788), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9223), Senapati (2247), Ukhrul (2997), Kakching (6441), Chandel (2361), Noney (1074), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (664), Imphal East (476), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192), Senapati (10), Ukhrul 44), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,422 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,765 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,61,241 tests per million population against the national average of 4,64,950 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1564 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.47 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.76 per cent.
