Cachar, February 25 2019:
All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU), Central Committee said that it is very unfortunate to learn about a meeting held yesterday at Silchar Singari Jagadananda Mandop between representatives ofBishnupriya and CSOs from Manipur through media which was attended by Chinglemba Athokpam of Sanamahi Temple Board; former students leader Longjam Sanjoy and Manorama Mutum; Manipur Human Rights activist Oinam Jotin; and GS EKAL Luwang Leima, without the knowledge of the various CSOs of Manipuri settled in Assam, said a statement released by AAMSU.
In the statement, AAMSU questioned the move of holding such meeting without consulting and taking opinion of various CSOs of Manipuri based in Assam while condemning the act in the strongest term.
AAMSU appealed the representatives from Manipur to not repeat such naive act which may give rise to disharmony among the Manipuri from Manipur and Assam, maintained the statement.
AAMSU further urged the CSOs from Manipur that if they ever want to hold talks or conduct meeting with Bishnupriya then do it by involving different organizations of Manipuri based in Assam which can provide various inputs regarding their current situation and aspirations, concluded the statement.
