SYSA edge past YDO 3-2 in Ksh Nonigopal Memorial Invitation football

SYSA, Tamenglong continued their winning way beating YDO, Imphal West 3 -2 in today's quarter final league stage clash of the ongoing 7th Ksh Nonigopal Memorial Invitation Football Tournament organised by all Jiribam Sports Association at Jiribam Higher Secondary School Playground.
SYDA, Tamenglong fresh from knockout stage triumphs carried on their fine from today against YDO and took a 2-1 lead in the first half through a brace from Pougun.
Pougun put SYSA in the front foot with a well taken shot early in the 9th minute and was at it again when he fired home the goal past YDO keeper in the 32nd minute to make it 2-0.YDO which were reeling under pressure for a major portion of the first period break themselves free in the latter part and grabbed a goal through N Olen in the 42nd minute and made it 1-2 at the half time.
The second half saw both teams display attacking football with SYSA looking to extend the lead and YDO trying to draw level.
SYSA however had the upper hand hand as Gaikaolung found the back of the net in the 51st minute extending the lead to 3-1 .
YDO who were taken aback for a while by the goal managed to pull back a goal when Khaiminthang made a fine run into the box and fired in a powerful shot in the 72nd minute.
But YDO's effort to draw level fell short as SYSA defence set up did not concede much space in vulnerable areas and kept all threats at bay.
MPSC will meet Mongoloid FC in the next quarter final league match tomorrow.
