Kakching people cry foul

Crying foul against the decision of Manipur University to tweak the reservation of Scheduled Castes, people of Kakching have decided to join hands together.
The decision was taken during a get-together meet held at the farm house of Naorem Nabachandra, proprietor Bubon Gems at Lamdeng Khunou, Imphal West.
A committee called 'Kakching Imphal Residential Committee' was also formed with the motive to extend all possible help to the people of Kakching.
Naorem Joy is the convenor while Nabachandra is the advisor of the committee.
Attending the meet senior citizens, college & university Professors, doctors, civil servants and others discussed the burning issue of the abandonment of Scheduled Caste Reservation by Manipur University.
"People of Kakching have been known for their sense of integration, regard towards elders, ever extending helping hands to others but the sense of integration among ourselves has been degrading day by day", said Naorem Giridari, retired librarian, JNIMS.
When it comes to the welfare of Kakching which belong to the SC community, all intellectuals and scholars regardless of differences in political party used to come forward for the betterment of all in any issue, he continued.
