Computers donate to orphanage

Imphal, February 26 2011:
The 27 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Red Shield Division donated one computer set to Tabitha Orphanage Home, Churachandpur district.
Tabitha Home is an orphanage located in the Churachandpur town.
It was established on December 14, 2003 by Mrs Zoram Tongsing.
It house ten orphan children from various parts of Manipur.
The orphanage has only one building and lacked infrastructure and basic amenities due to the prevailing conflict environment.
There is no source of funds available to the orphanage.
It is located some distance for away from the main town and thus could not afford to construct the boundary wall.
The orphanage approached 27 Sector AR for helping them to construct a boundary wall for them as also requested for a computer for the children.
Accordingly the requirements were projected as a Military Civic Action by 46 AR.
The boundary wall had been constructed at the site.
A ceremony presided by Mrs Sanit Grewal was held at HQ Veng on 26 Feb 2011 wherein a computer was gifted to the orphanage.
Mrs Sanit Grewal interacted with the children from the institution and encouraged them to pursue their education and progress in life.
