Ereibak completes eight year

Imphal, January 21, 2011:
The eighth anniversary of the publication of Ereibak, a Manipur daily, was celebrated today at its office at Palace Compound.
Joint Editor of daily, Laishram Kumar graced the function as chief guest which was presided by Aheibam Birendra, former director of Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Dimapur and also a member of the managing committee of the daily.
A Mobi, Editor of Sanaleibak daily, speaking on the occasion, said that he happy to learn that Ereibak daily has completed its eight years of service to the people.
He also recalled the most popular news item when the Ereibak was started its publication.
At that time W Nipamacha was the Chief Minister and the main news item that attracted the people was information about disbursement of pays for the employees.
Interesting, the foundation day of the daily comes up again when news of petrol distribution at outlets is hitting the state under O Ibobi led SPF government.
He also spoke at length about the confronting odds of the media persons in this trouble torn state of Manipur.
RK Ranendrajit, Editor of the then popular English daily "Freedom" advised the Ereibak publication group to publish news which would give benefits to the people and wishes to get by them from a newspaper.
He also observed the need of updating the present infrastructure of the media house to suit with time.
Hemanta Ningomba, editor of Hueiyen Lanpao, Manipuri edition also observed that if Ereibak has to go parallel with other newspapers, its infrastructure need to be update.
On the occasion, gifts were presented to the reporters of Ereibak daily.
