MPSC retains third place

Imphal, January 21, 2011:
After winning today's match the Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) retains third place in the point tally of the ongoing 5th Manipur State League (MSL) organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the Vision India Project of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal.
The first match today was played between United Sports Academy (USA), Khurai and Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei.
In a keenly contested match, USA beat SSU by a solitary goal.
After winning today's match, USA holds ninth place in the medal tally with 20 points.
On the other hand, SSU after losing the match was in the eighth place with 21 points.
The solitary winning goal of USA was scored by Thongkhosen Haokip in the 13th minute of the match.
Later in the second match, MPSC beat defending champion North Imphal Sporting Association (NISA), Thangmeiband 2-1.While MPSC holds the third place with 38 points, NISA wit same points is in the second place in the point tally.
Hemkhoson Touthang of MPSC drew the first blood of the match in the 33rd minute of the match.
With one goal ahead of them, NISA players tried their best to equalize the score and succeeded in the 55th minute when strike Jimmy strike a goal against MPSC.
The winning goal of MPSC was scored by I Nillakumar in the 64th minute.
On the other hand no players of NISA could equalize the score and lost the match.
ESU, Wangkhei and NEROCA Sangakpham will play the first match tomorrow at 11.30 am while the second match will be played between TRAU, Kwakeithel and TRUGPU, Nambol at 1.30 pm.
