Tension high in RIMS

Tension ran high in RIMS over the death of a patient in the surgical ward of RIMS with patient's party went berserk damaging the room of the nurses' room in the ward today.
The incident occured at around 8 pm today.
According to information received by the press, one patient identified as Heirom Bidyananda alias Sanatomba Singh (26) of Kongpal Khaidem Leikai under Imphal East, who was admitted to RIMS for treatment, died in male surgical ward of the hospital late evening today.
At the time when the condition of the patient deteriorated, except for two nurses, there were no doctor in the ward.
Infuriated over the absence of any doctor when the condition of the patient was in such a critical condition, the patient party went berserk damaging the window panes and furniture in the nurses' room.
The situation was brought under control with the arrival of the security guards of RIMS and the police.
According to the father of the deceased, his son was first admitted to JNIMS following complaint of stomach pain on January 19 and was referred to RIMS in the night of the same day.
Acting on the advice of the doctors at RIMS, X-ray, ultra-sound and CT scan imaging of his son have been taken.
But only today, the doctors informed the family members that it was Kidney problem and the matter was serious.
The father alleged that his son died because of the negligence of the attending doctors.
