7 to be decorated with Prez's Police Medal

Imphal, August 14 2014 : In recognition of the sincere, dedicated and blemish less services rendered by officers and men of Manipur Police Department over a period spanning more than 20(twenty) years, one officer has been reportedly awarded the prestigious President's Police Medal For Distinguished Service and 6 other officers/personnel have been selected for the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India on the occasion of Independence Day, 2014 .

According to a statement issued by S.Gautam Singh, MPS, SP/NAB, Manipur �cum-PRO, Police Department, Manipur, Moirangthem Mubi Singh, Dy Commandant of Ist Ban Manipur Rifles has been selected for the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service while Kom Nando Karung, Havildar, 2nd Bn Manipur Rifles; Hidangmayum Rameshwar Sharma, Inspector, Imphal West District Police; Sagolshem Brojendro Singh, Constable, CID (CB), Imphal; Md Feroz Khan, Commandant, 6th IRB Pangei, Imphal East district; Kiangsu Anthony, Sub-Inspector, Reserve Office to SP Tamenglong and Acche Kumar Pradhan, Havildar, 2nd Bn Manipur Rifles, Imphal for the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

Furthermore, six police officers will be conferred with the prestigious President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service at the Independence Day Parade, 2014, by the Chief Minister, Manipur at 1st Battalion, Manipur Rifles Complex tomorrow.

These Medals were awarded to the Police Officers on the occasion of Independence Day, 2011 and 2013 .

Of the six police officers, Pundi Mallana Goud, IP, ADGP (AP/Trg), Manipur and Maibam Rameswar Singh, MPS, the then DSP (Ops) Bishnupur district and now SDPO Mayang Imphal would be honoured with the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service for 2013 while the Police Medal for Meritorious Service for 2011 would be presented to L Kailun, IPS, the then DIG (Range-I) and now IGP Zone-II; Ishak Shah, MPS, the then Additional SP of Bishnupur and now SP of Senapati; RK Tejbir Singh, the then Inspector, Imphal West district and now Inspector/OC of Lilong PS and Sarangthem Gopendo Singh, Sub-Inspector, NAB, Manipur.

Meanwhile, Manipur Police Department has congratulated the winners of the prestigious medals on the decoration conferred upon them for their outstanding contribution to Policing in Manipur and wish them all the very best in their future career as well.
