Senapati, August 13, 2012:
A move considered to be positive towards fulfilling principles of reconciliation and creating better understanding among the Naga factions, NSCN/GPRN-IM yesterday released two cadres of GPRN/NSCN-K and one cadre of NSCN-KK who have been in its custody for some months unharmed.
In a simple function held at Senapati town, the three cadres were released in the presence of their guardians and social leaders/representatives.
The three cadres were identified as Dapunii K.D (NSCN-K) of Maiba Village; Robinson.
A (NSCN-K) of Liyai Khullen village and Rajepheyu rank N.Kaisii (NSCN-KK) of Taphou Pudunamai Village.
Meanwhile, Naga People's Organization (NPO), which had earlier appealed for safe release of the three cadres, has expressed its happiness and appreciation towards the move of the NSCN-IM.
Stating that such move will strengthen the on-going reconciliation process among the Naga factions, NPO has also reiterated the need for upholding the agreement signed by its Joint Working group (JWG) with different Naga factions on 9th October, 2010. It was agreed to maintain "status quo" by all Naga groups, to confine their cadres in their own respective camps and jurisdictions, to avoid confrontations and building tensions and collectively acknowledging that kidnapping and extortions are unbearable for all sections of people.
