Encroachers from Langol Hill Range will be evicted: Th Shyamkumar

Forest and Environment Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar has said that illegal encroachers at the Langol Hill Range will be evicted soon.
Stating that the Forest Department has already intimated the Revenue Department to check the land deeds, he said necessary action will follow soon.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the low cost water supply system constructed by the FDA, Central Forest Division with the assistance of National Medicinal Plant Board (NMPB), Gol at Lamdeng Mayai Leikai village which will cover 200 households.
Th Shyamkumar further appreciated the villagers and Forest Department officials for their continuous efforts in keeping the area green and contributing in protection and conservation of forest and Wildlife.
MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar sought 1 month time from the villagers to take necessary action over the foul smell coming out from the Lamdeng solid waste management plant which disturbed the villagers.
Although the solid waste management plant is very necessary project, it should not hamper the daily life of the locals, he said and assured that he will visit the place along with department officials and experts to solve the matter at the earliest.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force (PCCF and HoFF), K Angami lauded the villagers and elders of Lamdeng village, members of Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC), members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) for their support to the Forest Department.
Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Th Mohendra Pratap Singh said that the low cost water supply system at Lamdeng Mayai Leikai was constructed under NMPB fund of Rs 8 lakh.
L Joykumar Singh, Conservator of Forests, RK Amarjit Singh, DFO Central Forest Division, officials of Forest Department and villagers of Lamdeng attended the function.
