38th State Age Group Athletic Meet kicks off at Khuman Lampak, KNSAA lead tally with 25 medals

The 38th Edition of the State Age Group Athletic Championship 2018 being organised by Athletic Association of Manipur kick-started today at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
The championship will witness around 400 athletes from 15 units competes in various athletics events.
The opening day of the championship saw newly launched Kumam Nipamacha Singh Athletic Academy (KNSAA) amass 9 gold, 12 silver and 4 bronze medals to lead the tally.
SAIRC, Takyel collected a total of 7 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals to the second place so far.
Shot Put
H Noren of MPSC made a 10.61 m throw to finished first in the men's competition while his unit mate S Maipak managed 9.73 m to finish second.
S Kunjeshor of KNSAA finished third with a throw of 8.86 m.A Mukhopadhyay of NSU (11.04 m); Md Shahrukh Khan of LSA (9.48 m) and T Nanao of KNSAA (8.87 m) claimed the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in the U-20 men's competition.
In the U-14 girls competition, P Roji of KNSAA bagged a gold medal with a throw of 5.99 m while S Sanathoi of the same academy clinched the silver by making 5.89 m throw.
Th Belina of FUC finished third with a throw of 5.21 m.T Jina Devi of UKC (6.67) and S Lingthoingambi of KNSSA (5.67) finished first and second in the U-16 girls competition while N Jibolata Chanu of KNSAA (6.38 m) and Sweety Maisnam (5.86 m) of PRSC respectively claimed the gold and the silver medal in the U-20 girls competition.
Kim Simte of SROY claimed the women's competition gold medal with a throw of 9.12 m while M Arundhati of MPSC claimed the silver medal by throwing 8.92 m.N Ichaltombi of PRSC bagged the bronze medal with the best throw of 7.73 m.Th Theko of WSC (10.15 m); M Malemnganba of KNSAA (8.66 m) and N Karnajit of SAI-RC (8.09 m) respectively claimed the gold, silver and bronze medal in the U-14 boys event.
Kh Naresh of WSC (11.35 m), K Ibosana of KNSAA (11.02 m) and O Diamond of PRSC (10.62 m) respectively won the gold, silver and bronze medal in the U-16 boys shot put event.
Ch Bhagat of KNSAA (11.44 m); K Pradeep of LSA (10.23 m) and N Robichandra of SAI-RC (9.54 m) bagged the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
Race
RK Dayananda of SAIRC claimed the 200 m title for the U-16 boys with a time of 23.60 seconds while S Pilot of SROY and Priyobarta L of KNSAA recorded 24.01 s and 24.72 s respectively to claim the silver and the bronze medal.
S Sanatomba of SAIRC (22.17 second); Sidhu Bhusan N of KNSAA (22.66 seconds) and Ch Chingkheinganba of PRSC (23.75 seconds) finished first, second and third respectively in the U-18 boys 200 m event.
In the U-20 boys event, Jakai of PRSC (22.89 seconds); NSU's Yadav (23.25) and Ayush Pandey (24.49) claimed the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
M Aiken clocked 22.90 seconds to win the gold medal in the 200 m event for men while W Yaiphaba managed 23.33 second to settle for silver.
Ch Ranjan of NSU claimed the bronze with a time of 23.97 seconds.
Samir Alam of SAI-RC (1:27.64 second) won the U-14 boys' 600 m race while M Sanajaoba of the same unit clocked 1:29.00 seconds to finish second.
M Rakib of KNSAA finished third with a time of 1:32.10 seconds.
M Nijelita of SAI-RC (1:49.06 s); L Alina of KNSAA (1:50.72 s) and Ch Thoibi of FUC (2:03.63 s) claimed the gold, silver and the bronze medal in the U-14 girls' 600 m event.
O Premjit of KNSAA clocked 2:00.97 seconds to win the 800 m race for U-16 boys while Y Arijeet of PRSC and Md Jahed of PRSC finished second and third.
Md Idrish of SAI-RC took 2: 05.81 seconds to win the U-18 boys title while K Jemson of KNSAA and Th Prabinson of FUC bagged the silver and the bronze medal respectively.
In the men's 800 m event, HYC's N Tokyo managed 2:08.88 seconds to fetch gold while H Hemanta of MPSC (2:13.79 s) and H Shyamkumar of SROY (2:15.72 s) respectively grabbed the silver and the bronze medal.
H Bhumeshori of SAI-RC clocked 2:31.85 s and Th Babina of KNSAA took 2:34.33 s to finish first and second in the U-16 girls 600 m event while PRSC's N Chaoba (2:28.10 s) and N Dhanapati (3:29.78 s) claimed the gold and silver medal in the U-20 girls event.
Tripple Jump
K Rameshchandra of MPSC won the tripple jump title for men with a 13.00 m jump while MPSC's Dhanachandra made 11.10 m to win the silver medal.
Dolar of FUC settled with bronze medal with a record jump of 8.09 m .
Discus Throw
O Diamond of PRSC recorded 37.74 m to win the U-16 boys discus throw gold while K Ibosana of KNSAA (29.21 m) and Kh Naresh of WSC Neirangbam (26.87 m) claimed the silver and the bronze medal.
L Rabichandra of SAIRC fetched gold in the U-18 boys competition with a throw of 20.85 m while K Pradip of LSA claimed the silver with a 20.83 m throw.
