Imphal, February 08, 2012:
The Military Affairs Committee of the proscribed UG group, United National Liberation Front (UNLF), in a press statement, today greeted the people of the state on the occasion of the 25th Raising Day of its armed unit Manipur People's Army (MPA).
It also expressed its gratitude to the people of different communities in the state for their support and cooperation which has kept the organisation fit and strong to fight the Indian government.
The statement claimed that MPA has been fighting the Indian security forces in over 160 instances since its inception 25 years ago.
In the long history of its 25 years of existence and clash with the India government, the unit has developed a strong sense of belief that the ongoing revolution of UNLF and its armed wing MPA to regain the lost soveriegnty of Manipur from the clutch of the Indian Constitution will succeed one day with the cooperation and support of the people of the state.
It stated that Manipur has been suffering under the rule of India since India being a big and powerful country does its utmost to dominate and destroy the identity and sovereignty of the small kingdom of Manipur.
In such situation, armed struggle is one of the best means to regain the lost sovereignty of Manipur.
However, there are also democratic ways of struggle which the people of the state should not leave unexplored.
Everybody witnessed how people of some Arab countries revolted against their government in a democratic way but soon turned into an armed revolution supported by many western countries which toppled the governments of the countries.
The western countries rightly knew that only an armed revolution can bring an end to the tyranny of the rulers in those countries.
Likewise in Manipur, the governance and the military actions of the India government has left no choice but to take up arms against them to regain the lost freedom of Manipur, the statement said.
By imposing the AFSPA the Indian government has been trying to suppress the people of the state with the help of its army.
It is now clear that it is trying to liquidate the Manipuris who are different from them in all aspects from race to language and religion to culture.
The statement further added that the Indian Army has changed its strategic operations in the state after the Manorama incident in 2004 as their unsavoury images began to crop up in International media.
Since then they are using the state police force to carry out brutal acts and showing their dirty image through the state's own police force in the name of police modernisation.
Since then, many international media have begun to show the cruelty of the state police force instead of the Indian army.
The killing of Naobi in 2006 and the 23/7 incident of 2009 were clear examples of the state police force falling prey to the net of Indian Army.
Till now, many innocent people are killed by the state police commandos with the Indian Army behind their back.
On the other hand, the Indian Army has been projecting many counter revolutionary and reactionary organisations to defame the revolutionary organisations in the state and project a negative image of revolutionary groups to the world.
However, such propaganda and activities will not discourage the will of the cadres of the revolutionary organisations and the people of the state.
Instead, they will be defeated in the hand of the revolutionary organisations as theyhave now joined hands.
Keeping in mind the suggestions of the people and the prevailing strategy of the Indian Army, seven revolutionary organisations have joined hands and formed the Coordinating Committee (CorCom) to fight against the India government as one.
MPA along with PLA of RPF and Red Army of PREPAK-PRO all of which are members of the CorCom successfully carried out a joint operation in Singhat last month and snatched many arms and ammunitions from the security forces.
Stating it as a major success of the joint operation of CorCom, all the member parties of CorCom will do everything either united or alone against the security forces in their fight for a free Manipur.
It was also a major success for the MPA to attack the security forces at Aishi-Konkan in Ukhrul district, it added.
The statement also greeted all the armed units of the brother revolutionary organisations in the state on the 25th Raising Day of MPA and also paid tribute to those cadres who laid their lives for a free Manipur in their fight against the India government.
It also extended its greetings to the family members of the slain revolutionaries and those who become victims of army and police brutality.
