Students of the state today took to the streets pressing the state government to ensure them uninterrupted education and to bring a solution to the present impasse between the teachers and the government.
They also met Chief Minister and Education Minister and submitted a memorandum.
Students from different schools gathered at TG Higher Secondary School and started their rally in the afternoon and went towards the bungalow of the Chief Minister.
However, police stopped them in front of Nupilal Memorial Complex.
Later Chief Minister, O Ibobi met with some representatives of the students in his office.
The students submitted a memorandum seeking and to the impasse between the teachers and government and to ensure them to get full education without any disturbance.
They also met the Education Minister and discussed the same issue with him.
He assured them to end the impasse soon and make the situation normal.
General Secretary, Higher Secondary Schools Students Union, S Santibala said that students in the state have been deprived of studies since Novemer 15 after the Council of Teachers Association (COTA) began their cease work strike in demand of the 6th Central revised pay in toto.
Unfortunately some students were injured when police personnel beat them up during the rally.
Student leaders said if the state government do not take appropriate action against the involved police personnel and if the situation does not improved they will intensify their stir.
T Sanaton, Y Joychandra, H Ramchandra, I Dinesh, M Ngouba and S Khingba were also injured by police action.
