Society needs quality education for development: Chief Secretary

Chief Secretary of Manipur O Nabakishore Singh on Wednesday stated that Society needs quality education so as to embark on the path of development.
Delivering his speech as the Chief Guest at the silver jubilee celebration of Mount Everest Higher Secondary School (MEHSS) held at its school premises, Nabakishore stressed on the importance of acquiring quality education.
The Chief Secretary also expressed his surprise on discovering how such a prestigious and excellent school was established in the hill areas under concerted efforts by the school management.
Expressing his gratitude to the founder of the school MLA Alexander Pao, he appealed the management to continue maintaining quality education in the school.

Nabakishore further said that the school has provided service not only to particular community but to all the communities in the State and appealed all sections of the society including district administration to extend help required by the school.
Delivering his presidential speech, MLA Alexander Pao informed that the school was established in 1990.He recalled how the school faced problems in the past with numerous issues related with the welfare of the students, teachers and staff members.
He lauded the school administration, teachers and staff for their support and efforts on improving the school.
The school silver jubilee monolith was unveiled by the Chief Guest and Jubilee balloons were released by Commander, 59 Mountain Brigade, Senapati Brig Jeetendra Ohri.
MLAs Victor Nunghlung Victor and Dikho also attended in the jubilee celebration.
