Imphal, March 25 2014:
Ruling out the split of Left and Secular Alliance (LSA), Secretary of CPI Manipur State Council Dr M Nara has said that the Alliance has become firmer with the exit of JD (U) .
Talking to media persons at the office of CPI Manipur State Council here today in presence of leaders of other political parties of the Alliance, Dr Nara said that the statement of JD (U) was undemocratic.
Soon after the press conference of JD (U) held yesterday, some people claiming to be militants sent "threat SMSs" to some of the leaders of the Alliance warning them not to endorse NCP Outer candidate C Doungel.
The JD (U) is suspected to be behind such threat and it should be held responsible if any untoward incident happens to them, Nara warned.
Convenor of the Left and Secular Alliance Kshetrimayum Shanta reaffirmed that there is no question of the Alliance getting split due to the exit of JD (U).
The act of threatening the leaders of LSA over the issue of endorsing NCP candidate is very unfortunate and undemocratic.
All concerned should refrain from such undemocratic acts and ensure free and fair elections in the State, he added.
