TBCA Women Union Triennial Conference begins with spiritual ardour

The first ever four-day Triennial Conference of the Tangkhul Baptist Churches Association (TBCA) Women Union began with much spiritual ardour at the Jessami Baptist Church here on Thursday.
Held under the theme "Women in the changing world," the spiritual conference commenced with a grandeur hall dedication by Rev Yarngam Muivah, executive secretary TBCA at 5:30 pm on Thursday.
The event is participated by around 3000 worshippers of which 2500 are delegates from 65 churches across the district.
Bringing exegesis of the theme, Rev Dr.Wungnaoting Konghar, general secretary MBC said that time has come for the christian women to transform themselves with a renewed perspective.
He emphasized that women should take the lead in cultivating "Christ culture" by leading an exemplary prayerful life.
Stating that Christian women have a crucial role to play in the contemporary society, he advocated that equal opportunity to pursue education be created for women, so that they can take various challenges of the time.
During the morning worship service on Friday, Justice WA Shishak, Retired Chief Justice spoke on the importance of family founded on the will and grace of God.
He expounded that each and every Christian family should be built Christ-centric, while stressing that founding a family without Christ would not withstand the worldly challenges.
As part of the event, a grand handicraft auction was held during the day, wherein various Tangkhul traditional clothing and crafts went under the hammer with each fetching a couple of thousands of rupees.
