Landslides along NH-37 yet to be cleared

Imphal, June 20 2012:
In one of the biggest landslides, NH-37 continues to remain blocked at Nungdolan, Sibilong village in Tamenglong District since June 14 with three huge boulders lying in the middle of the road.
The three boulders are so huge that they are beyond the capacity of anyone to remove them.
According to BRTF-115 Road Construction Company (RCC) Commander, Terumal, who is supervising the 765 sector, Jiribam, CLP labours are working very hard day in and day out to clear out the boulders that blocked NH-37 since June 14 .
Three huge flat stones measuring 20 metres long and 12 metres wide are blocking the road in the middle.
Personnel of 80 BRTF are being engaged to clear the landlines, during which one CLP member reportedly sustained injuries.
It is said that 115 boxes of dynamites have already been used and 1 Compressor, 3 Bulldozers and JCBs are seen being use to clear the debrises.
One Doctor is also being posted at the work site for providing medical aid in case of any injury.
